Creative-Bridge!!! (part 2)

GirdesH… That’s how the girl at Starbucks spelt my name, lol. Sounds kinda cute.

The above was when I was relishing my coffee in the core of downtown Kuala Lumpur.

Apart from ascending the Petronas Twin Towers, there is another structure that I ascended to get the best view of the city. A few hours before I was even inside the building complex of the Twin Towers, I was on the top of the KL Tower, the world’s 7th tallest freestanding tower.

So basically, I ascended the ‘one’ KL Tower after breakfast and then the ‘two’ Twin Towers before dinner. It's also kinda funny that I wrote about the ‘two’ Twin Towers in my first Creative Bridge post while writing about the ‘one’ KL Tower in my second Creative Bridge post. Because I can, lol.

To me, the KL Tower is a bridge, too; not between buildings, but between the Earth and sky.

Some even say that the view from KL Tower is better than the Petronas Towers because you get the Twin Towers in the view. Also, the KL Tower is placed on a small hill, often appearing taller than the Petronas Twin Towers, even though it is not.

As mentioned in my previous post, creativity is not a common trait. And to be ‘super creative’ in a multi-talented sense is so very rare that others have difficulty comprehending its veracity. Because they are either functioning on a template set by others for them or are setting a template themselves based on what the world around them is dictating.

“Divide and rule” – we have heard of that idiom, but the one that’s shaping the template currently is “divide and fool”. Because those who are not gifted and wish they were in the club of rarity would like to limit and divide your abilities.

They want to steal your glory.

I visioned this view in the early 2000s!

You could be J. R. R. Tolkien who created the entire world of The Lord of the Rings, and someone limiting you to one personality to say “You are like Frodo”. It is dishonourable to be limiting by ignoring the fact that Tolkien is the same person who also created other characters like Gandalf, Aragorn, Gollum or even female characters like Arwen.

Not to mention, he also created Sauron.

It’s almost like limiting the Creator of the universe, who created everything, to some feeble idol in some corner of worship.

As an example close to my own works – Me creating every word, sentence, paragraph, chapter and plot you read in my books and then someone limiting me to the character of Gowtham (or any other) is as silly as limiting my role in music as one instrument player.

I mean when I created the character of Gowtham, I had made a list of points to describe him. Like – dumb but brave, ignorant but heroic. But for the character of Maude, it was – smart but overconfident. Remember every ‘smart’ thing the character Maude (or any other) tells in my book is my thought and research.

In fact, my character is in my books too. One can notice it on almost every page they open in the book – it’s the name of the writer that is on the left side of each page.

It’s also like I just created my music, from the guitar riffs to the vocals, from the tiniest sound to the loudest noise and then someone limits me to say that I am just the bassist playing bass. Wtf is that all about?

Oh wait, I get it, they are functioning on a lesser template and can not comprehend mine.

Since childhood, I was mostly known for singing and dancing. That is my true domain. So naturally mastering other instruments and creating the entire sound of my music and not just vocals could be a shock to some people’s limited paradigm.

To further comprehend that this same person is also a writer, traveller, blogger, investor, fashion designer, visual merchandiser, artist, producer, CEO and a member of various international forums, would shake the very foundation of their limited paradigm. I understand it, I do, which is why I can notice the desperation in dividing and fooling.

The universe has blessed me with the wisdom to stay humble and to realize that no matter what heights you reach in life, the greatest success for a man is being all that I mentioned above and still staying down-to-earth. But somehow this mannerism of mine is being mistaken for weakness by those who are neither blessed with the wisdom, nor the bounty.

In one of the two towers before dinner, looking at the other tower and KL Tower!

They either want a villain who is too proud of everything he has accomplished in life, or they want a pu**y (victim, I meant victim) who is crying about his life problems. They don’t want a superman.

I mean if you are singing songs that have been written by someone else, composed by another, directed by a team and instruments played by a few others, and yet get to call it ‘your’ song and win awards for it. Imagine what that could do to the fragile ego inside you. You would think you are invincible.

I am not against working with a team. I am just stating the obvious.

I mean if you are B for Better than the rest, some can't digest the fact that they are one of the ‘rest’. Well, that’s their problem. So naturally they would want to resolve for something much more digestible, like A for Awesome. Remember, even A for Awesome can fall into the boundaries of the ‘rest’. I know, I know, this idea would squeeze the brains of some people who can’t digest the truth. But like I said, the problem is theirs.

It's like, you are B for Better than the rest who just climbed Mount Everest wearing a winter jacket of A for Awesome, and those who are jealous would like to claim that it’s the jacket who climbed the mountain and not the man wearing it. Do you get the point?

When I hiked the Himalayan mountains, the warm goose-feather down-jacket and the warm sleeping bag I used on my journey protected me against the harsh cold. Without it, I couldn’t have lasted a day in the Himalayas, yes. But it’s not the jacket or the sleeping bag that climbed the mountain.

Also, remember, anyone can buy and wear that same jacket. They can wear it and climb a mountain or sit on a toilet seat and scroll through Instagram. It’s the same jacket but with different results. It’s the person wearing it and not the jacket itself.

The point is – anyone can claim they are creative, but where is the result? Anyone can be A for Awesome (if they are worthy).

As far as the eye could see!

But what magic happens when B is also best at being A for Awesome?

For some reason, some like to highlight that one can become like A for Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest presidents of the United States. True, anyone worthy can become like him. But they like to suppress the fact that only B for Britain’s King Arthur can pull that sword from the stone and accomplish legendary accomplishments.

They want to steal your glory.

Limiting someone to just a fraction of their true capabilities is a norm for those who are not gifted but wish they were in that club of rarity.

And more than ever before, telling lies in pop culture has never been easier. In times when you could steal someone else’s idea before breakfast, edit a TV episode by evening and air it by dinner time, any lies can thrive. And with AI-generated videos, ‘changes’ could be made to already existing content in a jiffy where one doesn’t even require the presence of the actor or their voice. And all that could be uploaded to an internet cesspool like YouTube where anyone can ‘change’ the date stamp.

A walk through downtown to my favorite mall in Kuala Lumpur (Pavilion)!

Trust me, AI-generated content is far far ahead of what we are told. Most of you might have watched movies or episodes in the past decade (especially on the internet) that have been in some way doctored or altered but told otherwise. Someone could create anything in the year 2024 and make it appear as though it was made in 1994. If you have not seen it in theatre yourself, how can you trust the claim?

Movies are not made my God. They are made by people who can easily sway into vested interests, financial and political gains, their own beliefs and truths. Even if a movie does bear the truth, it may not be the whole truth.

Pop culture content is only as good as, as intelligent as, as moral as, as entertaining as, as truthful as, as motivated as, as logical as and as creative as the director or the makers of it intend it to be.
