Our Founder & CEO, Girish Rathna holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Apparel Design and humbly hails nearly ten years of experience in international retail fashion. He is also a renowned writer of two novels. Now, under the Artist name - Rish Rathna is the creator of music albums.
With the focus no longer lingering on Logo Designing, our online store ‘Merchandise’ has taken the center stage. From CDs to fashion, to home décor to a temperature-controlled water bottle, the variety of products we have and are planning to have in the future is endless.
The new ‘Rish Rathna Merch’ that boasts the artistic mascot ‘RR’ Logo is slowly becoming the next big thing not only in the sphere of music but also in the sphere of trends, worldwide.
But the real mode of creation in recent years has been the ‘Music Production’ with three new singles released since the first album. The songs Remember, Midnight and Autopilot completed a trilogy of singles, telling their own musical stories to the world. Thus making the label ‘Penkcil Music Headbangers’ a tangible asset.
The Virtual Concert for the Discord Music Festival (DMF) 2020 and 2021 was a solid hit which helped scale Rish Rathna’s music to an eventful audience during the pandemic. Not only did it thrive as a platform, but also has now transformed into a virtual museum for music lovers.
The pandemic has indeed changed many things... But why ought that to be a bad thing?

The only unchangeable thing is the veracity of change itself. They say everything in the universe is in a constant jostle of change.
With the domain transfer to a new server, change is what our website www.penkcil.com went through recently. But of course, that change could as it did rub off onto the format of the Penkcil Group itself.
The pandemic has indeed changed many things for many people all around the world. But why ought that to be a bad thing?
As the Scottish Saying goes –

Inspired by many legendary bands of Heavy Metal genre, including some personal favourites of the artist, the idea was to innovate something new. Using the whoop of a power guitar, the digital symphony of tech cadence, the thrash of Death Metal drumming and to still maintain the mellow of New Age tunes, the result was the birth of a new musical genre – Hi-Tech Metal.
In times when subliminal words and subtle lyrics are weakly impacting audience, it was time to go silent. But with instruments making their own ‘voice’ and taking a peek into the soul of the listener, the hope is to connect them to the source.

Under the Record Label – Penkcil Music Headbangers, we have rather come up with a new business model called ‘Lockdown Model’. We have researched the best way to entertain the audience without breaking their bank and still earn money. The aim is to let the listeners simply stream music online for free whenever possible, while we make earnings through music platforms and the platforms earn through ads and subscriptions. Everybody wins, and the hope is to continue this model even after the supposed recession.
The aim was not just to create songs, but to come up with eight Musical Stories…

From the ashes of ruins rose the Phoenix they say. From this ash of difficult times should I say rose another one in the form of a musical album? Coming from a family background of music, for Rish Rathna (artist name) it was not a matter of if, but when.
The aim was not just to create songs, but to come up with eight Musical Stories… and in turn, they create an epic chronicle from Arrival to Game Fete. One of the best examples is the song Himalayan Traverse, which melodiously illustrates the artist’s hiking experience in the mountains.
Collaborated with a prolific team in Brooklyn, New York, the idea is to distribute the music to all the corners of the world, and to all the ears that listen regardless of their language.
So what’s next? And the answer is more music. So does that mean Rish Rathna will be at the Grammys one day? Maybe, we will see.
From sourcing European standard textile to getting the job done in Mumbai, to taking a trip to Bangalore’s industrial area in a zest to create excellent quality labels, to researching the historic trends of world fashion yet to present the simplest form of design on paper, from lifting local tailors from their industrial recession to selling the final product on the biggest online retail store in the world, we are enjoying what we are doing while giving out the best.
Out of the two suppliers we have collaborated with, one of them is a Dutch company headquartered in the Netherlands yet manufactures its products in Mumbai. We are also looking into a US supplier or a Chinese manufacturer for our future plans.
Being the small entrepreneurial establishment that we are, we could never think of having a warehouse as big as an aircraft hangar if required, but that we found with Amazon.
To link with the best skills and youngsters seeking part-time jobs, we sit with our laptops doing most of the business meetings. Even our CEO, all he needs is a tablet PC when he is travelling.

The world has a perception, a stubborn but also viable method of doing business. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, it seemed to have worked out well; unfortunately, not anymore. We at penKcil foresaw as we have come to adapt an innovative way of doing business to cope with the ever-changing world of commerce and yet sustain.
With the launch of ‘Penkcil Fashion’ to our system recently, although for the customer we provide prime quality products that match other products in the industry, not many know that our methods are totally innovative.
In a way, there are hundreds of skilled people and establishments that sync together in creating the fashion products we make and then bring them to the customers. And although we may not be that dying and corroded perception of how a company should be, we are yet sustaining and in a way showcasing the world what a future world of ‘smart-companies’ could be.
The symbol of the ‘penKcil’ itself tells a story. While it’s clearly a hexagon, one of the most ancient symbols since antiquity, it is also an inspiration from the hexagon design of a modern pencil. It has the Sun symbol as its core, and also a six-pointed star formation; to symbolize the beginning of good (sunrise) and to shine like a luminary (star). It also has six pyramids united by a circle of unity. Some may say the colours used in the penKcil logo freely covers almost all the colours mentioned in the national flags of every nation in the world; to symbolize a global approach. Although they are simply the basic colours in the field of Art – Blue and Green the cool colours, Red and Orange the warm colours, and Grey and White the neutral colours.
The elocution of the word ‘Penkcil’, pronounced Pen-Sil (the K is silent); this is to symbolize that K is for ‘knowledge’ which is BIG but also silent. But hey, we really do love it when people pronounce it as Penk-Sil or Pen-kil, sounds really cool. And oh yes, don’t forget to play with our ‘rotating-logo’ every time you visit our website. We love to make our clients feel young at heart and have a little play between their busy work-life.
For now, penKcil is a company set dedicated to designing logos for businesses, entrepreneurs, projects and emerging ideas. But where we go from here is to build a structure, laying brick masonry into the future of global-enhancement, to a better world who believes in the balance of sustained-growth.
